Sometimes patients feel that the angle of their nose between where the lip meets the nose is too masculine or too low. They want to get the tip lifted up just a little bit.
This is the nasal labial region and we are going to add some cartilage right there just to soften that. That is an area in ethnic patients that is usually a little bit short. If this area is pinched in and falling down, we will take little pieces of diced cartilage and put it right in there.
The plumping grafts are placed to a small incision inside the nose and they are placed just at the base of the nose. We want to get that angle for a male usually between 90 and 95 degrees. For a female, we want to get is anywhere between 95 and 110 degrees.
Plumping grafts are wonderful to help support that area and also to give the illusion that the nose is lifted up giving it more of a softer angle.
