Nelson -Nelson doesn’t eat out in restaurants and stays away from large crowds because of his face. He suffers from port wine stains of the face, a disfiguring facial malady caused by dilated capillaries under the skin, which evolve into venular malformations (mass on his nose and chin).
Procedure: Nelson’s initial procedures were septoplasty, excision of nasal and chin venular malformations, batten graft to left nasal ala and full thickness skin graft to left nostril.
He will subsequently undergo multiple pulse dye laser treatments to diminish the port wine stains. The after photos are 2 weeks following his surgery.
Nelson’s procedure was featured on Discovery Channel’s “Plastic Surgery: Before and After”.
