PREOPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS:
- Nasal obstruction caused by deviated septum and hypertrophic turbinates. External Nasal Deformity.
- Bilateral compensatory hypertrophic turbinates.
- Septal deviation; left caudal deviation and left bony spur.
PROCEDURE:
- Complex septal reconstruction, submucous resection with major partial vomerectomy for correction of deviated nasal septum.
- Submucous resection and partial resection of right inferior turbinate.
- Submucous resection and partial resection of left inferior turbinate.
- Open rhinoplasty, platelet gel application.
FINDINGS: Left caudal deviation, left posterior bony deviation and spur, asymmetric tip with right lower lateral cartilage (LLC) more convex; ptotic tip,tip over-rotated and over-projected, thick skin.
COMMENT: This patient desired better breathing and to improve the appearance of her nose. 4-month post surgery photos reveal an improved profile. Patient continues to heal.
